OLEFINFILM SM996 Flexible sealing film comprising a proprietary blend of waxes and polyolefins. OLEFINFILM is highly resistant to water, moisture loss and moisture absorption, yet is permeable to oxygen and carbon dioxide. SM996 sealing film stretches more than 350% of its original length and is self-sealing, allowing it to cling around irregular shapes and surfaces. These unique properties make it ideal for protecting the contents of test tubes, flasks, beakers, and Petri dishes as well as an overwrap to further secure stoppers, lids and caps.
Effects of common reagents
SM996 sealing film is resistant to many polar substances such as strong acids and alkalis for up to 48 hours. After this period, some brittleness may occur. It is not recommended for use with chlorinated or non-polar aliphatic or aromatic solvents.
Storage Conditions
- Temperatures of 45 °F to 90 °F (7 °C to 32 °C) and relative humidity of 35 % to 55 % are desirable. Avoid extremes of heat and cold.
- Store products in a cool, dry, clean environment; store several inches off the floor.
- Protect products from direct sunlight, heat, moisture, and keep in original container until ready for use.
