FAM-labeled siRNA

    Description

Our fluorescently labeled siRNA can be detected and observed by flow cytometry, fluorescence microscopy, and laser scanning confocal microscopy to determine whether transfection is effective, and optimize transfection conditions. Labeled siRNA can also be used for intracellular localization and double labeling experiments (with labeled antibody) to track siRNA transfected cells. Fluorescently labeled siRNA provides you with a tool to correlate siRNA uptake with reduction of gene target expression.

siRNA oligomers can be labeled at four different ends by multiple markers. Labeling of the anti-sense 5’ end will influence the gene silencing activity, so labeling of this site is not recommended. Modification of any of other three ends has no influence on silencing activity. We recommend modifying the 5’ end of the sense strand, which is the best recognized chemical labeling locus.

Our 5' end fluorescence labeled siRNA oligos are usually labeled with fluorescein amidite (FAM) dye. Products are in double stranded form, and purified by HPLC.
